Sapers & Wallack, Inc. is Named to the Boston Business Journal’s Top Women-led Businesses

Newton, MA (December 8, 2010) – The Boston Business Journal and the Commonwealth Institute released the organizations’ first list of Top Women-led Businesses. At this morning’s award presentation Sapers & Wallack, Inc., led by CEO Aviva Sapers, was named as the 79th largest women led business in Massachusetts. Sapers has been previously named to the Boston Business Journal’s list of Area’s Largest Women-led Businesses in 2008 and 2009. The nominees were honored on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at a breakfast awards ceremony at the Park Plaza Hotel in Boston.

Sapers leads Sapers & Wallack, Inc., a third-generation insurance, benefits and investment management firm. Founded in 1932, the company is headquartered in Newton. Under Sapers’ leadership, the firm takes a team approach to create comprehensive, cost-effective solutions to its clients.  Sapers and her team of experts serve hundreds of clients including Fortune 1000 corporations, non-profit organizations, closely held firms, venture-backed start-ups and private individuals.

Sapers is a member of The Commonwealth Institute, The Boston Estate Planning Council, and serves on the boards of The Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston and the Jewish Community Relations Council, as well as the Presidential Advisory Board for Berklee College of Music. Sapers earned a B.A. from Colby College and an MBA from Dartmouth’s Tuck School before joining the firm in 1987. In 1994, she was named partner at the firm. Sapers took over the reigns as CEO in 1998. Sapers has received degrees of Chartered Life Underwriters and Chartered Financial Consultant from The American College, has her Certification in Long Term Care and is a licensed Insurance Advisor. She became licensed with The National Association of Security Dealers in 1985 and is a member of The Million Dollar Round Table’s Court of Table and The Association of Advanced Life Underwriters and NALU.
